For example if you live in a country where the winters are harsh and the temperature drops to a freezing one then it may be best for you to get the thick overcoats that you will keep you warm throughout the season. But if you live in a country or a place with mild winters which you can manage then it may be a smart option for you to go with the topcoats. This is because during the winters you can wear the topcoats and if you still aren't warm can pair it with layers and then get through the season. And when the summer or the spring comes you can use the same mens topcoat and use it as a fashionable garment thus making the best use of the money that you spent on it. Therefore, depending on your place and the needs you can select the garment which gives you the most versatile option.
As for the mens long topcoats they are usually made from the fabrics that weighs to about 500 g per meter or lesser than that. In the recent times even this weight of the fabric is considered to be a heavyweight since lighter fabrics are invented in the modern world. Every man should contain at least one mens topcoat in their wardrobe to get through the spring and summer season.
